The Company: My Client is an industry leading wholesale business. This family run organisation has been expandingand strengthening their operations in recent years and is now seeking a talented Head of Operations to drive efficiency, streamline processes, and ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
The Role: As the Head of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising all aspects ofthesupply chain. Reporting directly to the COO, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase efficiencies, minimise costs, and maintain the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. You will lead a team of dedicated professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Oversee end to end purchasing, planning, warehousing and distribution function, ensuring the smooth flow of products to customers.
Collaborate with sales teams to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and meet customer requirements.
Streamline processes and workflows to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce lead times.
Develop and implement operational strategies to optimise efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, long-tenured operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and quality standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Drive initiatives for cost optimisation and process automation while undertaking P&L responsibilities.
Requirements:
Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications such as APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) are highly desirable.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing operations in a wholesale or distribution environment.
Strong understanding of purchasing and planning functions.
Prior experience in managing a high volume of SKUs.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organisation.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management software, and Excel.
